Focus on Technology of Disposable Ureteroscopes ‘URUS’ and Endoscopic Connecting Device ‘Port-C’

Dyne Medical Group (CEO Lee Sung-hoon) announced on the 11th that it participated in the recently held ‘Arab Health 2025’ event, laying the groundwork for a full-scale entry into the Middle Eastern market.

Arab Health, one of the largest healthcare exhibitions in the world, has been held annually in Dubai since 1975, and it is an important event where global medical device and technology companies gather to showcase their products and technologies. During this exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dyne Medical Group introduced their urology medical devices, ‘URUS’ and ‘Port-C.’

Dyne Medical Group’s Vice President, Nam Seong-chan, introduces the products to visitors.

Dyne Medical Group's flagship product, URUS, is a disposable flexible ureteroscope with a 6-o'clock working channel, improving accessibility to the lower kidney, thus providing exceptional performance during kidney stone removal surgeries. Another product, Port-C, is a lever-type Y-connector for endoscope connection, which is set to launch in Korea in 2025, with plans for international expansion.

Unlike conventional Y-connectors that require complex procedures to open and close the insertion port when adjusting the length of the endoscope, Port-C allows for easy adjustment of the device’s length with a simple lever operation.

This means that through Endoscope Instrument Control (ISIC) technology, the medical staff can adjust the device with one hand during surgery without requiring additional personnel. This enhances safety by preventing fluid leakage during the procedure. Additionally, the device can be adjusted up to 6mm, allowing for precise adjustments. Port-C is compatible not only with URUS but also with other manufacturers' endoscopes.

Both exhibited products significantly enhance the efficiency and safety of kidney stone removal surgeries, attracting attention from many buyers at the event.

URUS’s 6-o'clock Working Channel Innovation, Lecture by Professor Cho Seong-yong of Seoul National University Hospital

Meanwhile, Dyne Medical Group also conducted a lecture session at Arab Health 2025. During the exhibition, a live lecture explained how the 6-o'clock working channel of URUS could revolutionize kidney stone removal surgery.

Introducing the technology of URUS, Professor Cho Sung-yong of Seoul National University Hospital

Professor Cho Sung-yong of Seoul National University Hospital (Department of Urology) was the presenter. He explained that the 6-o'clock working channel provides a balanced view during stone removal surgeries, improving surgical precision. It also enhances accessibility to the surgical site, reducing wrist fatigue for the medical staff and improving the efficiency of the procedure.

Professor Cho emphasized that “URUS provides excellent visualization and ergonomic manipulation, allowing for more effective treatment during surgery” and highlighted how this technology contributes to improved patient outcomes.

After the lecture, the audience had the opportunity to experience the advantages of the 6-o'clock working channel by using a kidney model and simulating the kidney stone removal process.

This participation was made possible through the support of the Korean Health Industry Development Institute's Korean Medical Device Integrated Exhibition Program. Dyne Medical's Vice President Nam Seong-chan expressed, “After being selected as an exhibitor, I was deeply impressed by the close collaboration with the Korean Health Industry Development Institute. It was a very satisfactory initiative with practical support for the participating companies through various programs.”
