Dyne Medical Group’s URUS Nominated for Best Medical Technology at 2026 Prix Galien Korea

Dyne Medical Group, a medical device platform company specializing in urology, announced on August 25 that its single-use digital flexible ureteroscope system, URUS, has been officially nominated in the Best Medical Technology category at the 2026 Prix Galien Korea. Dyne Medical Group submitted URUS, featuring its distinctive 6 o’clock working channel configuration, for consideration.

Prix Galien was established in France in 1970 as an international life sciences award recognizing outstanding research and development achievements in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and other innovations that contribute to improving human health.
For more than 50 years, Prix Galien has highlighted innovation across the global life sciences industry, expanding its scope beyond pharmaceuticals to include biotechnology, medical technology, and digital health. Prix Galien Korea, being held in Korea for the first time this year, follows the global Prix Galien evaluation framework, with a jury comprising experts from the life sciences and healthcare sectors assessing innovation across each award category.
A total of 34 products and technologies have been nominated for this year’s Prix Galien Korea, including five candidates for Best Pharmaceutical Product, three for Best Biotechnology Product, four for Best Medical Technology, seven for Best Digital Health Solution, and 15 for Best Startup. Among them, URUS was selected as one of four nominees in the Best Medical Technology category.
The final winners will be announced on September 10 during the inaugural Prix Galien Korea Forum & Awards Ceremony at The Shilla Seoul.
Prix Galien evaluates candidates not merely on commercial performance, but also on scientific innovation, medical value, and their contribution to human health. In particular, Prix Galien Korea selects its winners through an eight-member panel of experts who evaluate the nominated technologies in each category. Accordingly, being named a nominee itself represents meaningful recognition of a product’s technological innovation, regardless of the final award result.
URUS, nominated in the Best Medical Technology category, is a single-use digital flexible ureteroscope system used in the treatment of kidney and ureteral stones. One of its key technological differentiators is its 6 o’clock working channel configuration.
Unlike conventional flexible ureteroscopes, which typically position the working channel at the 3 or 9 o’clock direction, URUS is designed so that the laser fiber appears closer to the center of the endoscopic field of view, allowing clinicians to target stones more intuitively during procedures.
Building on these product development capabilities, Dyne Medical Group is also expanding its business foundation in the global urology market. URUS has received U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance, establishing a foundation for entry into the U.S. market. The company has subsequently expanded its portfolio of FDA-cleared products with Port-C, an endoscopic connection device, which has also received FDA 510(k) clearance.

Dyne Medical Group is also continuing to strengthen strategic partnerships with global companies. In 2025, the company entered into a strategic product development collaboration and a KRW 100 billion global supply agreement with Swiss medical device company EMS (Electro Medical Systems SA), further expanding its foundation for overseas business growth.
The nomination for Prix Galien Korea is expected to serve as an opportunity not only to highlight the performance of an individual product, but also to demonstrate the technological and product development capabilities that Dyne Medical Group has accumulated in the field of urology.
Based on its technology and understanding of clinical practice developed in the treatment of urinary stone disease, Dyne Medical Group plans to gradually expand both its product portfolio and the scope of treatment areas it addresses.
