Dyne Medical Group (CEO Sunghoon Lee) announced on the 24th that it has signed an official distribution agreement in Japan with Medical Leaders, a Japanese medical device company, for its endoscopic connection device ‘Port-C.’

Under this agreement, Medical Leaders will be responsible for the distribution and sales of Port-C in Japan, while Dyne Medical Group plans to actively expand its business in the Japanese urology market.

Port-C is an endoscopic connection device used during Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS), a procedure performed for the treatment of kidney and ureteral stones. It is attached to a ureteroscope and assists in the manipulation of endoscopic treatment instruments such as laser fibers and baskets.

Previously, devices using a ‘Y-Connector’ system required opening and closing the insertion port to adjust the position of treatment instruments. However, Port-C improves this structure by allowing the instruments to be fixed in place or finely adjusted with a simple lever operation.

In particular, Port-C is designed to enable precise one-handed control of treatment instruments at the distal end of the endoscope within a range of up to 6 mm, helping physicians manipulate instruments more accurately while viewing the surgical monitor.

In addition, since there is no need to repeatedly open and close the insertion port, instruments can be controlled without assistance during procedures. It may also help reduce the possibility of fluid or bodily discharge, thereby lowering the risk of infection during procedures.

Medical Leaders, the partner in this collaboration, is a company that has distributed a wide range of medical devices in the Japanese market and conducts sales and distribution based on its network of hospitals and medical professionals. Dyne Medical Group plans to promote the successful entry of Port-C into the Japanese market based on Medical Leaders’ local distribution capabilities and healthcare network.

A company representative stated, “Japan is a market with a high level of medical technology where the adoption and evaluation of new medical devices are actively conducted. Through this collaboration, we plan to introduce the clinical advantages of Port-C to Japanese physicians and gradually expand product awareness in the local market.”

Meanwhile, Dyne Medical Group has recently been expanding its medical device portfolio in Asia and global markets. Centered on its flexible ureteroscope ‘URUS,’ the company has built distribution networks in multiple countries, and through this agreement in Japan, it has further expanded its overseas business foundation in endoscopic procedure-related product lines.

The company added that it will continue to expand into overseas markets by pursuing region-specific partnerships and implementing sales and distribution strategies tailored to local medical environments.
