Dyne Medical Group Signs MOU with Uzbekistan’s National Urology Center

Following Indonesia, Dyne Establishes Its Second Overseas Training Center—Promoting Education in Minimally Invasive Stone Surgery

Dyne Medical Group (CEO: Sunghoon Lee), a medical device company specializing in urology, announced on June 25 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Urology (RSU), a leading national hospital in Uzbekistan.

Through this agreement, a training center dedicated to Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS)—a state-of-the-art, minimally invasive procedure for kidney stone removal—will be established at RSU.

Located in the capital city of Tashkent, RSU is a central medical institution in Uzbekistan that performs more than 1,500 urinary stone surgeries annually, making it one of the premier urological hospitals in Central Asia. Beyond its clinical role, RSU is also recognized as a national hub for medical education. Its staff regularly travel to regional hospitals across the country to provide hands-on training and transfer surgical expertise.

This partnership aims to accelerate RSU’s transition from traditional invasive procedures, such as percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), to more patient-friendly, minimally invasive approaches like RIRS.

The core equipment for training will be Dyne Medical’s single-use flexible ureteroscope, URUS. Unlike reusable scopes—which can incur high repair costs and downtime when damaged during repeated use by trainees—URUS offers immediate replaceability, cost-effectiveness, and clinical safety, making it an ideal solution for continuous education and treatment without disruption.

Through this collaboration, RSU will be able to offer safer and faster recovery options for patients with complex stones, while its medical professionals will benefit from systematic training in the latest endoscopic techniques using URUS.

The MOU ceremony was held in Tashkent, attended by over 20 key RSU staff, including hospital director Dr. Muxtarov. Representing Dyne Medical were Vice President Sungchan Nam, Jaewon Choi (Uzbekistan Branch Director), and Sehyuk Han, CEO of local partner DCT International.

Surgeons at RSU perform RIRS using Dyne Medical Group’s single-use flexible ureteroscope “URUS” in Uzbekistan.

Dr. Muxtarov remarked, “We’re delighted that Korea’s advanced medical technology can contribute to enhancing the surgical capabilities of our staff. The integration of minimally invasive surgical systems into both education and practice is of great benefit.”

In his welcoming speech, Vice President Sungchan Nam stated, “We hope this training center becomes not just a place for device delivery but a true educational hub that enhances urological capabilities across Central Asia. Dyne Medical Group will continue working closely with our partner, DCT International, to ensure that more patients can access optimal treatment options.”

This RSU training center is Dyne Medical Group’s second overseas educational platform, following the establishment of a similar center at a national hospital in Indonesia in 2023. It marks a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion strategy.

Above all, Dyne’s ability to build such impactful programs with national hospitals stems from its proprietary technology and globally recognized product competitiveness. The company plans to further expand its global partnerships and lead the way in establishing patient-centered treatment environments and sustainable surgical training ecosystems based on innovative medical solutions.
