Dyne Medical Group (CEO Sunghoon Lee) announced on the 22nd that it has signed an agreement with Rumah Sakit Universitas Indonesia (RSUI), the hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Indonesia, to establish the country’s first RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery) training center.

This is Dyne Medical Group’s first overseas training center agreement and marks a significant first step in spreading global medical technology and building a sustainable education infrastructure.
RIRS is a minimally invasive surgical technique that removes kidney stones through the urethra and ureter without the need for incisions. With its quick recovery time and minimal burden on patients, it is gaining increasing attention. The new training center is expected to serve as an educational platform where Indonesian medical professionals can learn and practice these advanced techniques firsthand, ultimately enhancing the quality of local healthcare services.
The opening event, held in Jakarta on the 15th, was attended by prominent Indonesian urologists, including Dr. Widi Atmoko and Dr. Dyandra Parikesit, who gave presentations on the benefits of RIRS as a safe, minimally invasive procedure for patients.
The event was also open to the general public, offering an opportunity to raise public awareness of stone-related diseases and treatment options. The partnership with RSUI has also been prominently featured in major Indonesian media outlets as an innovative approach that reduces patient recovery time and shortens hospital stays.
Dyne Medical officially entered the Indonesian market in 2024 by launching its product lineup. Indonesia, with a population of over 280 million, represents the largest domestic market in ASEAN and is considered a highly attractive market for the medical device industry.

RSUI is currently using Dyne Medical Group’s URUS as an officially adopted product.
Although the medical infrastructure is still insufficient relative to the population size, reforms under President Joko Widodo — including the expansion of the national health insurance program (JKN) and the modernization of the healthcare system — are rapidly increasing the market's potential.
Amid this environment, Dyne Medical has gone beyond simple product distribution, pursuing an academic-driven strategy aimed at improving local healthcare standards. By focusing on training and procedural collaborations centered around leading university hospitals, the company has worked to deliver not only its products but also comprehensive procedural knowledge.
This agreement is seen as the result of such strategic efforts and carries added significance as an official partnership with RSUI, one of Indonesia’s top institutions for medical education.
Nam Sungchan, Vice President of Dyne Medical Group, stated, “Dyne Medical aims to be more than just a technology provider—we seek to be a true partner who delivers real value to local medical professionals and patients. We are deeply grateful to be selected as the partner for Indonesia’s first RIRS training center.”
Going forward, Dyne Medical plans to use this agreement as a stepping stone to promote Korea’s advanced urological technology and education as a global standard. In particular, the company aims to expand its training and procedural network across Southeast Asia, pursuing a greater goal of international medical collaboration and a sustainable medical education ecosystem—well beyond the mere sale of equipment.
