Dyne Medical Group (CEO Sung-Hoon Lee) announced on the 27th that it has become the first Korean company to participate in the ‘Jackson Hole Seminar, Urology’ for two consecutive years, reinforcing its efforts to build an expert network in the United States.

At the Jackson Hole Urology Seminar, Professor Sung-Yong Cho from Seoul National University Hospital presents his clinical experience.
With a 44-year tradition, this seminar is held annually in February in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It is a prestigious academic gathering where renowned urology experts from across the United States and around the world are invited to share the latest research and clinical experiences. Particularly, only scholars selected through a rigorous screening process are allowed to present, making it a highly regarded stage for academic and clinical authority in the field of urology. Dr. Ralph E. Hopkins, who founded this seminar, introduced an operational approach that promotes academic competition to advance urology, establishing a system where presenters and audiences engage in in-depth discussions. The seminar maintains the tradition of selecting the best presentation each year through this rigorous academic competition, awarding a specially crafted trophy to the winner.
In February 2024, Dyne Medical Group became the first Korean company to participate in the Jackson Hole Urology Seminar as a sponsoring company. Now, a year later, it has secured its position as a sponsor for the second consecutive year.
Chul-Seok Kim, Chief Strategy Officer of Dyne Medical Group, who attended the Jackson Hole meeting as the company’s representative, stated, “The Jackson Hole Urology Seminar marks the starting point of Dyne Medical Group’s entry into the U.S. market. Before officially entering the U.S. market last year, we first unveiled our product at Jackson Hole, where a select group of prestigious scholars gathers. By emphasizing its differentiation, we took a strategic approach to establish our product as a premium offering through the community of influential scholars.” He added, “Through cooperation with key hospital physicians we met at last year’s seminar, we have built the foundational structure of our U.S. business. We are currently in discussions to introduce our product into major hospitals alongside obtaining FDA approval.”
Dyne Medical Group’s flagship product, ‘URUS,’ is a disposable flexible ureteroscope featuring a 6 o’clock working channel. It enhances access to the lower kidney, delivering outstanding performance in kidney stone removal surgeries. At this year’s Jackson Hole Seminar, Professor Sung-Yong Cho from Seoul National University Hospital presented on the clinical advantages of the product. He explained how the camera of the endoscope and the direction of the working channel—positioned at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock, respectively—impact patient surgeries, based on actual clinical experience. His presentation received positive feedback from the attendees.

At the Dyne Medical Group exhibition booth, products were introduced.
During this seminar, Dr. Gerald Andriole, former Chief of Urology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Washington, D.C., who personally tested Dyne Medical Group’s product, stated, “The most impressive aspect of this product was its outstanding maneuverability. Compared to conventional reusable ureteroscopes, the handling of this product is remarkably intuitive and smooth. This allowed for precise adjustments during procedures, which in turn benefits patient treatment.” Additionally, other attendees who tested the product at the exhibition booth pointed out the risks of cross-contamination in reusable products and the labor and cost burdens associated with cleaning and sterilization processes. They noted that Dyne Medical Group’s product, which minimizes infection risks while delivering equal or superior performance to existing devices, has strong competitive potential in the U.S. market.
Through this seminar, Dyne Medical Group has further expanded its network with U.S. medical professionals. The company plans to continue its research and clinical collaborations to strengthen its competitiveness in the U.S. market. As the U.S. medical device industry undergoes environmental and policy changes demanding innovative solutions, attention is now on whether Dyne Medical Group’s disposable flexible ureteroscope will establish itself as the new standard.
