Just as the name "dyne" refers to a unit of force in physics that can move a 1g object by 1cm, Dyne Medical Group is making significant progress in the endoscope market, which is primarily led by global healthcare companies. What, then, is the goal for Dyne Medical Group in 2025?

CEO Lee Seong-hoon of Dyne Medical Group recently shared with Medical News that, "Last year, we succeeded in establishing the fundamental values that a medical device company should have. In 2025, we will focus on securing sustainable growth drivers through continuous technological innovation and quality improvement."

 

CEO Lee highlighted the signing of an MOU with the Korean Society of Endourology and Robotics (KSER) as one of the company’s key achievements last year. The partnership aims to enhance the expertise of urologists in kidney stone removal surgery and provide educational opportunities regarding the latest technologies and treatment methods. Future plans include various educational programs and collaborative projects.

Additionally, Dyne Medical Group has successfully raised its brand recognition, generating consistent new revenue both domestically and internationally. The company also received FDA approval for its flagship product, the single-use flexible ureteroscope “Urus,” and expanded its portfolio by launching new products like the endoscopic connector “Port-C.” These achievements have created more opportunities for portfolio expansion.

This year, Dyne Medical Group is focusing on the following core areas:

  • Enhancing domestic sales capabilities

Specifically, the company is accelerating market expansion into new regions such as the U.S., Brazil, the Middle East, Singapore, Uzbekistan, and Malaysia, while also strengthening its competitiveness through collaborations with global medical device companies. Dyne Medical will continue to pursue patent applications and increase its investments in research and development (R&D).

CEO Lee expressed significant expectations for the development of the next-generation model of "Urus." "Urus" is a product composed of a single-use flexible ureteroscope and video processor, which is essential for kidney stone removal surgery (RIRS). The device is highly regarded for its ability to visualize the urinary tract and kidneys. As a flexible, single-use endoscope, it contributes to faster recovery times for patients by allowing non-invasive procedures, while minimizing the risk of cross-contamination that can occur with reusable endoscopes. The next-generation model is expected to incorporate design enhancements to the working channel, further improving surgical outcomes and convenience for medical professionals.

Meanwhile, as the company continues to grow and develop a premium image beyond its startup origins, CEO Lee emphasized his commitment to talent development and recruitment.

When asked about the type of employees he values, Lee said, "It's crucial for individuals to understand their own goals and how they can contribute to the company. They should not become complacent in their current roles and must remain curious. I also prefer individuals who are confident enough to express their opinions in meetings, even if they might be wrong, and who can easily adapt to changes."

Concluding the interview, CEO Lee reaffirmed the company’s vision: "Dyne Medical is not just a company that makes and sells products. We focus on clear product strategies and differentiation. Our priority is to provide services that meet unmet needs, enhance our brand value, and eventually complete our roadmap for an IPO to reward our investors."
